Students are reimagining the future of Colfax, building better fire stations for Denver, and innovating Colorado's outside industry. We hope to CU at these upcoming events.
You are helping shape the future of CU Denver, which in turn is helping shape the future of the Denver metro region. In this special issue of Elevation, you can learn about some of the many ways our students and faculty are partnering with local communities, industries, and civic leaders to strengthen the city and region we call home. As we serve as an academic, economic, and cultural engine in downtown Denver, thank you for helping us reach new heights.
Reimagining the Future of Colfax, Together
Working with local organizations and civic partners, CU Denver students proposed innovative solutions to help revitalize one of Denver's most recognizable corridors. From pocket forests to cleaner energy and improved transit, their ideas demonstrate the power of collaboration to strengthen our city.
CU Denver is home to Colorado's only Certified Public Manager® program. Each year, public servants from across the state come to campus to strengthen their leadership skills and return to their communities better prepared to serve Colorado.
Building Better Fire Stations for Denver
What if neighborhood fire stations could do even more for the communities they serve? Working alongside the City and County of Denver, CU Denver architecture students developed innovative concepts that combine emergency response with housing, retail, and community spaces, demonstrating how thoughtful design can help shape a stronger, more connected city.
This spring, more than 2,000 CU Denver graduates crossed the commencement stage prepared to shape their professions and communities. Whether through scholarships, student success initiatives, or experiential learning, your generosity helps learners reach life's biggest milestones. Thank you for investing in their journeys and helping create opportunities that extend far beyond graduation.
Innovation Takes Shape at the Outside Lab
Through CU Denver's Outside Lab, students are collaborating with Outside Inc. to design, test, and improve the next generation of outdoor products. Students like Corey Cox are gaining hands-on experience, industry connections, and the confidence to build careers in one of Colorado's fastest-growing industries.
This September, CU Denver architecture students will showcase community-centered pavilion designs during Doors Open Denver as part of the city's first-ever Community Design Festival. Created in partnership with local organizations and the Denver Mayor's Office, these projects demonstrate how design can foster belonging and strengthen neighborhoods.
