Wu Scholarship for Study Abroad in China
May 21, 2026Mr. Wu has spent his adult life living between China and Colorado and wishes to support more students becoming cultural ambassadors between the United States and China. Non-native Chinese-speaking students planning to study Chinese language and culture in China while committing to being a cultural ambassador between the two nations are eligible to apply.
Who can apply?
- Full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate CU Denver students
- Non-native Chinese speakers (any nationality)
- Acceptance into a study abroad program in China
- Program must be approved through the Office of Global Education
- Student must enroll in at least one Chinese language course while abroad
- Preference for applications to CU Denver’s Semester in Beijing program
- Can be awarded for more than one term
- Agreement to participate in the OGE Humans of Global Education (HOGE) campaign upon return. In addition to inclusion on the OGE website, HOGE submissions will be shared with the scholarship donor.
- Submission of a completed application that addresses:
- Why are you interested in learning Chinese and studying in China?
- How would you leverage your experience to promote cultural exchange between US and Chinese people?
- If you are selecting a Chinese language/culture program other than CU Denver's Semester in Beijing, please discuss why the program you chose is a better fit for you (academically, personally, and/or professionally).
