The Center for Innovative Design and Engineering (CIDE) is proud to present the fourth annual Colorado Assistive Technology Expo - a FREE, one-day, in-person event featuring over 30 assistive technology (AT) vendors to provide opportunities for networking, collaboration, and hands-on learning. Come experience new tools, products, and features to increase independence for all. 

CIDE will also host a Make & Take workshop — a fun, hands-on session where you’ll create your own assistive technology tools to take home. Participants can sign up upon arrival at the Expo on first come, first-served basis. 

What is Assistive Technology?

"Assistive technology is any item, piece of equipment, software program, or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of persons with disabilities." - (Assistive Technology Industry Association [ATIA], 2014)

Who Can Attend and Exhibit?

Attendees

  • Anyone can attend. The event is free and open to the public!
  • The Expo will feature tools and technology beneficial to individuals across the lifespan, including AT for communication, mobility, school, employment, community living, and more.
  • This will be an excellent learning and networking opportunity for assistive technology specialists, special educators, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech language pathologists, reading resource teachers, instructional technology teachers, UDL/RtI coordinators, teachers of the visually impaired, administrators, paraprofessionals, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers.
  • Earn a certificate for your time participating.
  • Swag will be available for all and door prizes for the lucky!
  • Attendee registration for the 2026 Colorado Assistive Technology Expo will close on September 18, 2026.

Communications Technology Access Program

Through the Division for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind (CDDHHDB), the Communications Technology Access Program (CTAP) provides free specialized equipment, education, and resources to qualified Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and speech-disabled individuals.
To ensure equitable communication access, CTAP oversees three core initiatives: the Communications Technology Program (CTP), the National DeafBlind Equipment Distribution Program (NDBEDP, also known as iCanConnect), and Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS).
